False information at 5:14 which claims that the less than ideal placement of the spark plug gap (for #3 cylinder) can result in overheating. This is a nonsense statement. Actually in earlier engine models the fan shroud contained the oil cooler in the fan shroud in a place closest to the #3 cylinder. As a result the #3 cylinder did not receive the cooler air that the other cylinders received and tended to run hotter and wear out quicker. In later models (with dual port intake manifold) the oil cooler was placed outside the fan shroud allowing all the cylinders to cool evenly.

honda's stratified charge engine required a mostly lean air fuel ratio to reduce emissions, but kept it rich where the intake valve was. therefore they could only situate the plug at one location, making dual plugs obsolete, unless using a plug with two contacts at the tip.

Why even bother with petrol, go straight to diesel. With the high torque of a diesel you don't need th high revs to get the hp as you doo in a petrol. I can cruise at 70 mph at 1800rpm, 66mpg on a good day ( increase the CR to 19:1 and even better fuel efficiency), no vibration , no smell, excellent fuel comsumption. If these two stokes are going to be long stroke better still, they will be more fuel efficient a there is more time for the fuel to burn and give up its energy,being a long stroke you don't have the over square pistons , so the run a lot smoother.

About the only difference from those EMD 2 Strokes is using a valve on the intake & fuel. Concept is the same. Intake pressurized to evacuate exhaust. Injected fuel. Low RPM may not be a disadvantage if it's paired with a generator & battery LIKE those EMD's of yor. Efficiency at a given rpm range to optimize a generator vs. paired with a transmission/drive line might be its purpose. And effectively this is a diesel in the same conceptual space as the EMD's & Detroit's evolutions of the Winton EMC Two stroke, just it runs on gasoline vs. Diesel fuel.
